First reported in the Denver Post, Atomic Provisions plans to move to Golden to open three of its four brands under one roof at 1100 Washington Ave. This will include Atomic Cowboy, the group’s “full-service bar concept,” the Denver Biscuit Company, its gourmet breakfast, brunch and lunch restaurant, and the late night Fat Sully’s NY Style Pizza, open from lunch until close.

“The building has got great character with lots of cool brick on the outside,” founder and CEO Drew Shader told What Now Denver. “It fits us. There’s about 4,000 square feet with a huge patio that extends onto Washington. We hope to be well-supported by locals, and there’s tons of tourists through the area.”
The new space is a former mortuary from the mid-1800s that’s been totally gutted, so there’s going to be a lot of construction to put together the large, approximately 150-seat restaurant. The sprawling patio will open onto the Golden Hotel across the street with pizza, fat biscuit breakfasts, and much more in a Western-vibed atmosphere.
As part of the motivation for the move, Atomic Provisions is getting in just before ground breaks on the massive, multimillion dollar CoorsTek transformation. The Colorado brewing company plans to convert its 112-year-old manufacturing plant into a multi use commercial and residential spread over approximately 1.3 million square feet, five city blocks. The conversion is expected to take more than 10 years to complete (per the Denver Post).
This will be Atomic Provisions’s fifth Denver-area location, covering the metro area from north to south since 2004. And they’ve recently extended out of state to Kansas City. The consistent food and fun atmosphere is what keeps the company growing, according to Shader.
“It’s consistently great food that translates to a lot of different people,” Shader said. “We’re lucky to excel on hyper-focused concepts like biscuits and pizza. And while the food is phenomenal, Atomic is always a great space with an excellent design and awesome location.”
Shader aims to open Atomic Provisions Golden sometime this summer.
