This September, a new cocktail lounge is coming to fill the empty building left vacant after Chow Morso Osteria shuttered in 2020. New tenant The Velvet Cellar is an eatery and wine bar that will open at the 1500 Wynkoop St. location, BusinessDen recently reported.
The upcoming establishment, just blocks from Union Station in the thriving Lower Downtown, is slated to welcome patrons in the fall, according to its website.
Executive chef Todd Bobrovicz told the BusinessDen, “It’s a nice wine bar with spirits and beer, but it’s also going to have a great, from-scratch menu.” There will be 200 wine varieties for diners to choose from and a rotating selection of plates.
With 4,000 square feet of space, the place will be chic with deep tones and luxurious accents. General manager Nichole Sullivan called the design “high-end.”
Pinnacle Real Estate Advisors announced the lease signing in March, with the owners, who wish to remain private, signing a $570,780 deal and planning to put another $500,000 into remodeling.
